Can you remember how it used to be?
A sunny day, the smell of grass,
playing in the park,
Can you remember those happy times,
when the day was never dark?
The rippling brook, the stepping stones,
the swing hanging from the tree,
Jumping in the puddles,
Can you remember how it used to be?
School holidays, a trip to the beach,
and sandwiches coated in sand,
Digging holes and building castles,
Funfilled days that were never planned.
But time moves on and we grow up,
Other children take our place,
To play those age old games again,
And wear that happy face.
